Cheryl Bruen, PT, DPT, is a board-certified physical therapist at Community Care Physical Therapy. Cheryl received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and her Bachelor of Science in health science, with a minor in psychology, from Nazareth College of Rochester in Pittsford, NY. Cheryl completed her clinical rotation in facilities throughout New York State, focusing on inpatient and outpatient orthopedics and patients with neurological and developmental disabilities. She has collaborated with interdisciplinary teams over her career to evaluate and treat pediatric, adult, and geriatric physical therapy clients. She has been active in educating the community about fall prevention and workplace injury prevention.
Cheryl decided on a career in healthcare because she wanted a career where she would meet a variety of individuals and hopefully make a positive difference in their lives. She also desired a career that is constantly evolving so that she can continue to learn and be challenged each day. As an athlete in high school, she became interested in pursuing physical therapy.
Originally from Schodack, NY, Cheryl chose to return home after college to practice in the Capital Region. She enjoys outdoor activities throughout the various seasons, especially skiing in the winter and disc golf in the summer. Cheryl most enjoys interacting with patients and watching their progress in getting back to doing the things they enjoy, which is her favorite part of working in orthopedics.
Cheryl primarily practices at Community Care Physical Therapy’s Delmar location at 250 Delaware Avenue, Delmar, NY.
