Khyatee Kamdar, MPT, DPT, is a physical therapist specializing in orthopedic injuries and neuro-rehabilitation. Her mother has always been her primary role model, inspiring her to pursue a career in physical therapy and a profession centered on helping others. Khyatee was drawn to physical therapy because it offers the opportunity to alleviate pain, improve quality of life, and help patients overcome physical barriers so they can return to the activities and routines that matter to them.
Her interest in the field grew from her fascination with human anatomy, the complexity of the nervous system, and the body’s remarkable ability to heal after injury. She takes an evidence-based approach to rehabilitation, developing tailored treatment plans with clear, measurable goals based on the personal preferences of the individual receiving care. For Khyatee, one of the most rewarding parts of her work is seeing patients regain independence and return to daily life with greater confidence.
Khyatee believes thorough Initial evaluation, active listening, setting SMART goals, and collaborative efforts from the patient and family members are essential to effective patient care. She strives to create a supportive and friendly environment built on compassion, patience, and positive reinforcement, helping patients feel encouraged throughout their recovery.
Khyatee earned her Bachelor of Physical Therapy and Master of Physical Therapy from Shri K. K. Sheth Physiotherapy College in Rajkot, Gujarat, India. She also holds a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Dallas Baptist University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana. She is licensed as a physical therapist in New York and holds a Rehabilitation Administration Certificate from the University of Montana.
Khyatee has lived in the Capital Region with her family since 2021 and appreciates the area’s natural beauty, four seasons of fun, peaceful environment, great educational opportunities, and welcoming community. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, cooking, listening to music, playing indoor games, and photography. She also speaks Gujarati and Hindi.
